A GP referral is not usually required for a private consultation. A referral letter is helpful if available. If you are insured, check your policy’s referral and authorisation requirements.
How long will my appointment take?
The time needed depends on what needs to be discussed and assessed. If you need an indication of how much time to set aside, please ask the clinic when booking.
How soon can I be seen?
Availability varies between clinics. Call or use the clinic contact links above to ask about current appointments. Do not wait for a private appointment if you have emergency symptoms.
How does private medical insurance work?
Check that your policy covers a consultation with Dr Cassar at your chosen clinic, and obtain prior authorisation where required. Ask your insurer about any excess or limits on your cover.
Are investigations included in the consultation fee?
Additional diagnostic tests are charged separately. Tests are recommended where clinically appropriate. Please ask about the relevant fees before proceeding.
Will my GP receive a report?
With your permission, Dr Cassar sends your GP a clinic letter explaining the assessment, findings and recommendations.
Are video or telephone follow-ups available?
Yes. Video and telephone follow-up consultations are available where appropriate, including for medication reviews or discussion of test results. Please ask which format is suitable for your follow-up. An initial assessment is normally in person so that an examination and any appropriate tests can be considered.
